Arthur is one of the many, but one of the most influential, traditional finance professionals who has successfully transitioned into crypto. He has his bachelor's in economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and moved to Hong Kong to work as an equity derivatives trader for Deutsche Bank and Citigroup for five years.
He co-founded BitMEX (Bitcoin Mercantile Exchange), a crypto derivatives marketplace, in 2014. BitMEX offers futures contracts that let investors make leveraged bets of up to 100 to 1. They brought in $83 million in revenue in 2017 and $21 million during the first 30 days of January 2018 alone.
